movie suggestion

i dont usually give movie recomendations but i could not pass up this opportunity.
i was fortunate to see a wonderful movie this past week that really inspired me, it was called the motorcycle diaries (http://www.motorcyclediariesmovie.com). im sure everyone has seen it and i just missed the boat, but in case you have a spare moment rent it and tell me what you think. (sorry about the cursing, but just cover your eyes).

if you haven't seen it, stephen, i would also suggest "Life is Beautiful" (La Vita e' Bella). it's an italian movie that takes place during ww2 era italy. great flick about a man and his family. came out in '97, i believe, but i didn't see it until just the other day.

"La Vita e Bella" is indeed a nice movie. Not spectacular or something, BUT, a very good story. And funny too... touching. I thought it won some oscars... whatever.. :)

lianne, yes, it did win several oscars. Best Foreign Language Film, Best Actor in a Leading Role, and Best Music, Original Dramatic Score. it was also nominated for Best Director, Best Film Editing, Best Picture, and Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen.

I saw that movie when it first came out. I loved it. When I left the theater I had to take a minute and just admire the motercycle diaries. I would also suggest..not foreign..but very good Sideways. Another good movie based on the bonds of friends.

Beautiful movie. My favorite part: when they're at the ancient ruins and Ernesto thinks, "How is it possible to feel nostalgia for a world I never knew?"

Yeah, I have seen this one in theaters where it is that much more beautiful. If you like the actor who plays Che (Gael Garcia Bernal) I would also suggest Amores Perros, an excellent Mexican film.
